Dr. Nancy Meyer

Chiropractic Physician & Wellness Consultant
Clinic Director

Dr. Meyer is the Clinic Director of Chiropractic Wellness in Southwest Roanoke. She earned her BS degree in Human Biology at the Logan Chiropractic College in St. Louis, MO and her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Logan Chiropractic College in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Meyer is Advance Proficiency Rated in Activator Methods Technique. This is a soft touch adjusting technique.

Dr. Meyer became a Chiropractor after suffering for years with headaches as a child and bursitis in her shoulder due to a pinched nerve as a teenager. After years of conventional medical treatments that never helped including steroid shots, she went to a Chiropractor to hopefully get relief from her headaches and occasional low back pain. To her surprise she not only got relief from her headaches, but her bursitis pain in her shoulder went away.

Dr. Meyer has participated in the DAN (Defeat Autism Now) Clinicians Registry. DAN Doctors are those that wish to employ rational, scientifically sound interventions for autism. The registry provides parents and patients with a listing of doctors having specialized knowledge in these childhood development disorders. As a DAN Doctor, Dr. Meyer has undergone intense training on the current research, science and treatment for the detection and management of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHD). To help children with ASD's, Dr. Meyer does lectures to assist with the management of these disorders.

She played collegiate volleyball for the University of Southern Indiana. With her athletic background Dr. Meyer enjoys helping athletes of all types overcome sports injuries and improve athletic performance. She has worked with Olympic Athletes as a treating physician for the World's Greatest Athletes Chiropractic Decathlon Club. She has competed in state competition bike races, 5k races, completed a century (100 mile) bike ride, and recently completed a half century (50 mile) bike ride. She has used her athletic experience to coach various athletic teams. She started coaching her first team when she was 18 years old. She has coached in the Roanoke area Recreational, Travel, and Middle School soccer teams, Girls' softball teams, High Schools and Middle School volleyball teams, Upward Basketball, and Recreational basketball.

She is a regular lecturer regarding health and wellness issues. She is a current member of the American Chiropractic Association, Virginia Chiropractic Association, Salem-Roanoke Chamber of Commerce, and National Association of Professional Women. She currently serves on the March of Dimes board in our community. She has been Professor at Jefferson College of Health Sciences where she taught Microbiology Lecture and Lab, as well as Anatomy and Physiology Lab. Also, Dr. Meyer is a past board member of Professional Women Resources and Executive Women International. She was awarded Outstanding Young Woman of America. She co-chaired the building committee for her church's Family Life Center. She was awarded Virginia Business Partner of the Year in 2008 for charity work.

Dr. Meyer has been a guest speaker for several businesses and schools including AEP and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Dr. Meyer is available as a keynote speaker for professional and motivational engagements as well as local clubs and organizations.

Certified Posture Exercise Professional (CPEP®) – Acquired posture specialist training through the intensive CPEP® program, led by BodyZone.com founder Dr. Steven Weiniger, renowned posture expert, delegate to the White House Conference on Aging, and author of Stand Taller Live Longer. The CPEP program has set the international standard in postural assessment and strengthening posture through focused motion exercise to improve patient/client outcome by improving balance, alignment, functional motion and performance.

She joined our staff with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics from College of William and Mary. The study in Mathematics makes a perfect match for handling the details of Billing and Accounts Receivables in the office. She is ready to help you with your insurance, billing, and payment questions. She is married and has 3 children.
